The Course Goal ______________________________________________________________________ The Japanese Winter Culture Course is designed to give you a better understanding of this traditional Setsubun custom. In Japan, Setsubun is the day before the beginning of each season celebrated yearly on February 3rd. Spring Setsubun is the Japanese equal holiday of New Years Eve. It is accompanied by a special ritual to cleanse away all the evil of the former year, and drive away the evil spirits that bring diseases and bad luck. This comprehensive program will provide you with a greater insight of this special event and its associated vocabulary, kanji and grammar. You will also get the opportunity to participate in a Nabe Party under a Kotatsu, a tour to the Dazaifu Shrine, Japanese Cooking lesson、and day trips to a Vulkano and Kurokawa ? Onsen.
