Nationals of Countries and Areas with Visa Exemption Arrangements with Japan:
If your nationality is on the following list, you are not required to obtain a visa to enter Japan when the purpose of their visit is commerce, conferences, tourism, visit to relatives/acquaintances, etc.

*Nations of countries and regions with visa exemptions recognizing stays of six months or less who wish to stay in Japan for more than 90 days must apply to the Ministry of Justice (Regional Immigration bureau) for an extension of their period of stay. The immigration office approves applications individually.
You can apply for an extension or your period of stay one and half month to three months after your arrival. They maybe require your return flight ticket and proof of your budget to stay so we recommend you to prepare those. Regarding to the proof of your budget, you can just show them your credit card most of the time. If that’s not enough, you maybe required to provide a certificate showing the balance of your bank account.
