Join the Shinto festival in Joyo town!

Join the Omikoshi festival in Joyo, a small mountain town situated in the southern part of Fukuoka Prefecture, and try shouldering the Shinto shrine! Get involved by helping to carry the shrine (Jap.: Omikoshi) and feel the culture of Japan. This is a rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a unique part of Japanese tradition. Your participation will brighten up the festival for everyone! You will also be able to see fireworks and many interesting street stalls. Please come along and join the fun!

Fee: 1 000 Yen (Dinner+transportation fee)
Activities: Watch fireworks; Carry Omikoshi (shinto shrine)

~13:30 Arrival in Joyo
14:00 Change your clothes
15:00 Omikoshi
17:00 Japanese style bath (big bathhouse)
18:00 Dinner
19:00 Watch the “Hinokami daiko” drum performance
20:30 Watch fire works
~22:30 Return to Fukuoka
