| Level 1 –– Beginner | |

We would like to encourage you to try our Level 2 Test. This Level 1 is really basic and you might already know more than you admit yourself.

This level is for students studying Japanese for the first time or for those who have studied some Japanese before. You can learn basic Japanese including HIRAGANA, KATAKANA and numbers. This is the most suitable level for learning tenses and simple conversation for traveling in Japan. |
| Level 2 – Lower Elementary | |
| Show Questions Level 2 | This level is for students who want to learn basic Japanese adjectives and verbs for basic conversation. In this course, you will also learn grammar. At the end of this course, you will be able to take the grade 5 Japanese Language Proficiency Test. |
| Level 3 – Intermediate | |
| Show Questions Level 3 | You can deal with predictable day-to-day activities. Basic communication is possible with plenty of assistance. You do not have enough language skills yet to cope with everyday problems alone, but you can manage simple daily life interactions, both commercial and social. |
| Level 4 – Upper Elementary | |
| Show Questions Level 4 | You can deal with varied familiar everyday activities. You can make effective and independent use of the language in familiar situations. There are still many mistakes and gaps, but you can communicate and understand general messages in most contexts. The lines of communication are in place and work efficiently. At the end of this course, you will be able to take the grade 4 Japanese Language Proficiency Test. |
| Level 5 – Lower Intermediate |

| Show Questions Level 5 | You can deal with simple keyword tasks. You can manage quite complex and demanding situations easily enough. In complex situations, there are lapses in accuracy, but communication is easily restored. At the end of this course, you will be able to take the grade 3 Japanese Language Proficiency Test. |
