Interview with Katharina

intern_japan
We had a brief interview with Katharina who is doing an internship at “Di Santo Corporation” in Fukuoka.
At her work, she has three main tasks. The first, helping organize the company events, talking to people and giving information to them. Her second task is the translation of Facebook posts and blogs from Japanese to English as well as her native tongue, German. Her third main task is to research the economic situation in Fukuoka and other cities.
There is one Japanese staff in the company and she usually communicates with her in Japanese to improve her language skills. Besides work, she also enjoys shopping. For example, she bought a T-shirt of Fukuoka’s “Hard Rock Cafe” and many Japanese cooking books. She has also traveled to different places such as Hiroshima, Kumamoto and even South Korea, sometimes on behalf of her company.

Lastly, Katharina gave some tips for future students and interns.
