The Mandarake chain is one of Japan’s largest vendors of used anime and manga-related products. The name contains “manga” and the Japanese word “darake” (だらけ) which can be translated to “everywhere around”. The store stocks collectibles, VHS tapes, DVDs, CDs, used Manga , toys and large numbers of fan-drawn Dōjinshi.
The Fukuoka store is one of the biggest in Japan, competing only with the Akihabara store in Tokyo. The enormous Fukuoka store is located in the popular Tenjin district near the city’s main Post Office. This store has storyboards as well as a tremendous selection of fan-based comics.
