Fukuoka University 

Fukuoka is not only the biggest city on Kyūshū, it’s also the home of one of Kyūshū’s best universities. The university of Fukuoka is known throughout the country and has a reputation of being extremely modern and top notch when it comes to the academic standards of its fakulties. The University has nine faculties with a total of around 20,000 students, 800 of whom are foreign. Its two campuses are in Nanakuma and Kitakyushu. It is one of the oldest universities in Japan and one of the highest ranked universities in Asia. Fukuoka University Hospital is one of Japan’s top hospitals.


The university of Fukuoka has an exchange program for international students and is highly involved in charity activities and work. When the Kumamoto earthquake hit the prefecture in 2016, the students of Fukuoka university volunteered and travelled to Kumamoto to support the citizenship and supply water and other mandatory items.


Fukuoka university’s main building is located in Nanakuma and can be reached by the Nanakuma subway line departing from Tenjin station.
